Leiden and flood!

Leiden was flooded with sky tear

in a nightmare I had with lots of fear

walls were detached from its flattened earth

water was carrying them like a coffin after death

Words and terms made rhyme on the water

Arabic, Dutch, and Persian became a friend with one another

A language was made out of no root and no grammar

Leiden at the collapse made the people like brother

Leiden is a place that I have to reside

Yet my staying there was always denied

With broken wings and a bleeding heart

As a pilgrim, I go there for a new start

May the walls of Burcht give testimony

That I was loyal to her, my words were not boloney

O Leiden, may your walls and poems be eternal

May your sun never turn nocturnal
