Animal rights in Islam!

I just talked with a friend in Iran who brought his dogs out of the city due to the new law that the Islamic Republic's police is enforcing against dogs. He was so nervous and angry; who knows what will happen to his dogs if the police get them.

In Islam, dogs are notorious and dirty (Arabic najis), and Islamic police have systematically executed countless dogs in past decades! However, many Iranians have dogs and love the true friend of human beings; as Saadi, the 12the century Persian poet, says, The rightful dog is better than unthankful human if you want justice!
